If a fight/battle/war is to take place, we need to know who is going to be involved, where it's going to happen, what kind...etc. Please check inside for information. (Unauthorized fighting must also have a form filled out, so that the admin and other members are alerted to the situation).

Feel like playing something else other than wolf for a while? Do so here. You can play anything from human, to dragon...to, you know what? You can roleplay ants for all I care! (: No character applications are needed, no special information...you can have short term roleplays, long term roleplays, one-on-ones, or character-limited! It doesn't matter. (Or, you can role play other wolves here if you like; if you don't want to bring them into the site).
Archives from year one! Once the first year passes, all topics (IC and OOC) will be moved here. They'll be split up, and organized accordingly, so don't worry about not being able to find something.
Being the other half, though unnamed and unclaimed, of the Forest of Quiet, it bears striking resemblance to its opposite half. Perhaps it was just the almost too-much-to-handle silence that made it vacant of ownership and left for the drifters. The area is as well mostly quiet, but perhaps for those loners who know silence so well, it is but a sanctuary.
Sprouting high above one’s head are the beeches and ash trees, followed by cherry trees and sugar maples by the dozen. In fact, spring often turns the place into a whirl of softly-pink toned flower petals fluttering amidst the breath like breezes which find themselves breaking free of the trees, just beginning to grow back leaves from their diluted stage of winter hibernation.
The real questions are on the once-mentioned silence. So quiet it pulses through the air, allowing the beating of thick air to cloud one’s mind. Is the bray of an orphaned fawn, or the rustle of leaves in the wind really muted, or simply unheard under mere belief. Can silence really be so silent that it revolves so loudly in one’s head, or is it a figment in the persistence of the mind? That is for those to decide who venture so willingly into the forest, strolling along the mossy ground, sun dappled by the canopy.
A wide, and just as long, valley nestled fondly between the hills. Eons, possibly in the time of the bi-pedal reptiles known as dinosaurs, it was a lake. Old petrified ferns, roots, and even rock-like bones can be found scattered and buried over the area. However, it does not get its name from the size, or objects found within the landscape.
The area was so named, for the expanse of golden-green foliage that sprouts over the basin. In autumn the colors are so vibrant and lively, that any traveler could wonder why the field wasn’t claimed. Though it is beautiful, year round, there is little shelter from blistering winds and the heat; or cold for that matter.
Prey is abundant, though small. Mice, voles, shrews, quail, and that sort are common among the tufts of heather and brambles. Hawks patrol the skies, and watch for the tiny vermin that scamper along the weeds. Observing the movement of a hawk, could easily give any wolf an advantage, and an easy route to a quick snack.
Over hills that crown the Golden Valley, and beyond them, lie the tall gray-stone mountains of Seascape. The area and ground at the base of the mountains is rocky, and covered in pointy, jagged stones, making travel up (or around for that matter) very difficult. Very little grass, heather, or wild plants grow in the area, so the view is very monotone and bland. Nonetheless, intimidating.
With the lack of plant life, there are very little prey options to choose from. Hawks and eagles nest in the sheltered regions of the mountains, but so do cougars and wildcats. Any wolf that values their life would do well to keep from any unknown cave located in the rocky slopes; but then again not all care so much as to.
Bears, though rare, also come here; usually to hibernate. Otherwise, they keep to the lower parts, such as the valley and forests.
Beyond the range of mountains, and rocky slopes, is a second clearing. Sporting no forest of any kind, and very little tall foliage. Within the mile, the clearing stops; abruptly. With little warning, it drops off into the steep, jagged crags below. And the ocean.
With each wave, the ocean sends a spray of cool, salty mist over the rocks and meadow. The air is always fresh, but briny—and not good for fur, and cool, despite the open situation. No shade for miles…no shelter, or prey.
Because Tak is only one wolf, he is incapable of seeing to all of his territory. The farthest from his outcrop of closely guarded areas, and the most frequented by loners, is this place…a forest so silent, that the clichéd song of a cricket doesn’t play here. That’s not to say there isn’t prey, but an untimely silence has fallen over them; as if there are spirits keeping watch.
Which is why Tak has given the forest a rather obvious name, Forest of the Quiet. It’s a very, very, strange place, and often seems to get colder without warning or wind.
Tak, doesn’t want much to do with this place… though he still declares it as his own, he leaves the edge to the nomads and wanderers. Not that they’re going to find anything in the wood.
Though it is quiet, it is still beautiful. In the peek of summer, when the trees are fully bloomed, the forest appears all too welcoming. Wondrous colors fall over the woodland, when the sun flickers through the branches… Maples, oaks, willows… ash, beech, and cherry…
Not far from the quiet forest, runs a wide, wide river. The origin of the waterway is unknown, but it trails off into the Yanyo canyon, and spills away into a waterfall. Streams from this river pour into the forests, but they hardly lack the one thing that makes the Boundary Waters unique.
Each summer, salmon flock to the area to breed, so that their eggs will hatch in fall and the young can migrate south in time for the winter. However, with salmon, come dangerous beasts. Bears, and even man, have been known to take fish from the river for themselves.
Though the salmon are tasty, they’re hard to catch, and slippery. Just be prepared to get yourself wet, if you ever do decide to go fishing.
The river widens, nearest the quiet forest, almost forming a lake, if the water were calm enough. Sun basking, swimming, and fishing… it can all be done here, and in a very serene comfort as well. Or, at least, as long as you live under Tak.
On the opposing side of the river, is a lush green field, complete with soft velvety grasses and colorful wildflowers. The meadow rolls with small hills and mounds, popping up here and there. Large gray rocks decorate the ground, poking up through the topsoil, suggesting that a cave is somewhere beneath; though an opening has yet to be discovered.
Small ground-dwelling mammals, such as mice, rabbits, and shrew, inhabit the rolling green; making a quick snack for any by-passer who has an urge to eat. Of course, one would have to be a slick loner to get by and steal from Tak. He doesn’t much appreciate thieves, you know.
Aside from those facts, very few trees hold the ground together, making the land vulnerable to sliding during large rainstorms. And, since the field lacks trees, it’s a good idea to travel at dawn or dusk, if you plan on coming out here during the summer months. When the sun is high, it can get well beyond hot.
